When it rains here, the whole village smells of cow dung

I'm not quite sure whats going on, but it must be the time to fertilize. it smells like poo! The enitre village must have fertilized today, and then the rain came and now the whole town smells like poo.
The smells here are very interesting. If you've never smelled drying cassava, you're in for a treat. They lay it out on big mats in the sun to dry and the smell infuses everything and its covered with flies and I think it smells a little like vomit. It tastes okay, but I do not like the smell.

My favorite Kinyarwanda phrases:

Simbizi – I don’t know
Ceceka – shut up (pronounced checheka, like Che Guevara)
Ntakibazo – not a problem
Ndagerageza – I am trying
Sinitwa muzungu, nitwa Ali – My name is not white person, my name is Ali
Sinvuga igifaransa – I don’t speak French
Yego, ni gike – yes, a little (in response to you speak Kinyarwanda?)
Mwiriwe - greeting for afternoon
Umunsi mwiza - have a good day
Ni bibi - its bad

My name for Rwandese is very difficult because Bantu speakers often switch r’s and l’s and the word ari means he/she is somewhere. I have been called Alice, Aline, and so I have just been telling people my name is Alicia (uh-lee-cee-uh). Its easier for them and not as confusing.
